Meet the Team - Arne Pohlmeier, Learning & Participation Producer
This week we are in conversation with one of the newest additions to our team at the Guildhall – Arne Pohlmeier, Learning and Participation Producer. He is yet one more brilliant person working in the background to make the Guildhall a welcoming Home for Music and Dance in Gloucester.
GH: Arne, welcome to the team! Please introduce yourself and your role
AP: Hello! My name is Arne Pohlmeier. I am originally from Germany (in case you were wondering about the surname) and have lived in the UK since 2007. My official title is Learning and Participation Producer and what this means is that I am here to help create fun, engaging projects with and for everyone (mainly: our audiences, our local communities, young people, and Gloucestershire artists & creatives).
GH: What are you looking forward to at the Guildhall?
AP: Well, I am new to Gloucester, and I know that this is a new role at the Guildhall – you simply did not have anyone producing Learning and Participation projects beforehand. So, I am looking forward to getting stuck in, to meeting people and creating opportunities with and for them – hopefully, we can make the Guildhall feel like the beating creative heart of the town centre again!
GH: What is the one thing you really want to tell our audience about?
AP: The one thing I want to say to your readers is this: I would love to hear from you! Come and join me for a tea or coffee in the Guildhall bar, drop me an email, tell me what you want to see more of at the Guildhall. I mean, do people want to learn salsa dancing, flower arranging, singing, or something altogether different? Would they like us to offer performing arts workshops, board games, music and dance classes, whiskey or wine tastings or guided tours of the town centre? What are the things currently missing in Gloucester that the Guildhall could provide? Please reach out and let me know!
GH: Well, you have heard it folks. Arne would love to hear from you – so he can create Learning and Participation opportunities that you are really interested in. All we need now are your contact details.
AP: Absolutely. Please contact me by email on arne.pohlmeier@gloucester.gov.uk. That is the best way to reach me. And if you do want to meet in person – let’s plan via email.
GH: Thanks so much, Arne. All the best for this new beginning at the Guildhall!
AP: Thank you! Good-bye.
