We will keep a record that you are planning to attend if you have let us know in advance so we will be expecting you.

If events are cancelled or rescheduled we will email you to inform you – if last minute then we will call you in advance.

We are pleased to offer a free ticket to any personal assistant or carer accompanying a disabled person. Please advise the box office in advance if we can do anything to make your visit easier.

An induction loop to assist the hard-of-hearing is always on in our box office. We also have a seat next to the box office if there is a queue.

If you are unable to attend, please let us know and we will do our best to help you with future events.

Cinema

From the lift there is level access to the Cinema and accessible toilet.

We have 7 accessible seating areas of which 4 are available all of the time.

Whether you use a wheelchair or require a different seat, these spaces are accessible and you can purchase them online or via the box office. These spaces are at the side of the room from the front to the back.

We can also offer table service in the cinema and have paper menus available. We can also send these out in advance.

We offer regular Hard of Hearing descriptive subtitled films. These are labelled DS in our programme.

We have an induction loop in the Cinema.

Accessible Toilets

At the Guildhall, we have gender neutral toilets, gender specific toilets and three accessible toilets on site.

Our accessible toilets are for everyone and are gender neutral. You can find these in our Gallery space on Level 2, outside the George Hunt Room, on Level 3, there is also a radar key accessible toilet along our main corridor just outside the Bar & Café.

The accessible toilet in the Gallery is also where you can find baby changing facilities.

Audio Description

We now have Audio Description in our cinema, this is a service for visually impaired or blind people.

In addition to the main soundtrack of the film which plays through the speakers, AD users listen to a narration that details what is happening on screen at selected breaks during the films dialogue, through a set of headphones.

The headphones still enable the user to hear the main soundtrack through the Cinema speakers.

You can reserve your AD headsets when booking your ticket either through our website or at the Box Office.

You can collect them when you arrive for your screening from the Box Office. All films with Audio Description will be listed with AD alongside the screening time.

Performance Events

For seated events we offer accessible spaces in the Hall and cinema. Early entry is also available to enable you to get comfy before the doors open.

We have a balcony area with seating which is only accessed via stairs.

A loop is available for some performances.

We try to limit the amount of strobe lighting and will let you know in advance via signage inside the venue.
