Events Assistant
Job Description
About the role
Are you an experienced Events Assistant or have a genuine passion for arts and culture? If so, there’s never been a more exciting time to join the Guildhall team!
As an Events Assistant, you will be at the heart of our dynamic cultural programme, which features a mix of live music, comedy, film, dance, circus, and immersive experiences. You will form a key part of our Operations Team working collaboratively to ensure the seamless execution of all aspects of our events.
What we need from you…
As an Events Assistant you will possess strong interpersonal skills, helping you to offer a lasting, memorable experience to all our artists and customers from the moment they walk through our doors and to the moment they depart.
Working as part of a dynamic team, you will assist with event set-ups and event delivery and carry out venue resets in line with the event schedule, under the guidance of the Operations Supervisors. You will have the ability to think on the spot and remain calm under pressure, understanding that events can be variable and making the customer needs a priority.
You will maintain a strong awareness of health and safety procedures and will undertake duties including fire warden and first aid. You will also receive training to become an evacuation chair operator, which will be included as part of the interview process.
Gloucester Guildhall is open weekdays, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. The successful applicant will work to a monthly rota, which will include a mixture of these shifts.
