Maybe the greatest movie musical, Stanley Donen’s exuberant, airy romantic comedy stars Gene Kelly at his quicksilver best – dancing with exquisite skill as silent film star Don Lockwood – alongside Debbie Reynolds in her most effervescent screen role. 

1927: Don Lockwood has ascended from song-and-dance man to leading movie star. His on-screen partner, Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen) believes she and Don are in love. But with the arrival of the ‘talkies’, her squawky voice must  be dubbed – and the girl chosen to be her voice is 'serious' actress Kathy Selden (Reynolds), for whom Don promptly falls. Full of wit and high spirits, Singin’ in the Rain is an indelible screen masterpiece, a joy from start to finish.
