Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables) plays a Lady Gaga-esque pop superstar in David Lowery’s (A Ghost Story, The Green Knight) hypnotic melodrama about fame, friendship and the mysterious processes of creative inspiration and collaboration.

Long-buried wounds rise to the surface when iconic pop star Mother Mary (Hathaway) reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel) on the eve of her comeback performance. 

Mother Mary features original songs by FKA Twigs (who also co-stars), Charli XCX and Jack Antonoff, performed by Hathaway, and a cast including Euphoria’s Hunter Schafer and Fleabag’s Sian Clifford.
