About Michael (12A)

One of the most influential performers the world has ever known, Michael Jackson’s rise to fame is brought to the screen in Antoine Fuqua’s (Training Day) new biopic, filled with thrilling musical sequences showcasing his smash hit songs.

Written by John Logan (Gladiator, The Last Samurai, Hugo), Michael delves into Jackson’s early years, portraying his tumultuous home life with his strict, disciplinarian father Joe (Oscar nominee Colman Domingo) and childhood success with his brothers in the Jackson 5, through to his stratospheric ascension as arguably the greatest ever star of the pop firmament. The singer is played by his real-life nephew Jaafar Jackson, with a terrific broader ensemble cast including Nia Long, Laura Harrier and Miles Teller as family members, friends and fans.
