About Last Unicorn Airways

Embark on a magical journey with Last Unicorn Airways!

Join two whimsical baggage handlers as they recreate a fantastical round-the-world adventure aboard the final flight of Last Unicorn Airways, opening suitcases brimming with trinkets, fine clothes, alluring smells and exciting tales.

Among these treasures lies a special case containing The Flying Trunk, a captivating Arabian Nights-inspired fable about a daring, globe-trotting storyteller with nothing but a magical flying suitcase!

Adapted from Hans Christian Andersen's timeless story, the show uses playful storytelling to remind us to see everyday life as an adventure and to cherish our world and each other. It's a heartwarming reflection on courage, connection and resilience - perfect for families and children, including those with complex needs and disabilities.

After the show, step into a sensory immersive installation, offering a unique, interactive experience for every audience member.

Last Unicorn Airways is a fully inclusive, intrinsically relaxed sensory‑immersive show. Find out more below in the section 'SEN Friendly Show'.

“We all absolutely loved Last Unicorn Airways. All three of my kids are rarely equally engaged, but they all had lots to talk about and play around afterwards”

SEN Friendly Show

The Last Unicorn Airways uses largely non‑verbal storytelling, embedded audio description and some universal sign, allowing children with a wide range of communication styles to engage.

Audiences receive a sensory keyring full of charms and textures to guide them through the journey. The show follows two playful baggage handlers unpacking a round‑the‑world adventure through suitcases, puppetry, live music and sensory elements.

The performance lasts around 50 minutes, including time to explore the sensory immersive tunnel at the end. Its small‑scale, interactive format lets children move, vocalise and engage in the way that suits them best.
