About Gloucestershire Dance Day
Gloucestershire Dance Day is back for 2026!
A whole day of dance, films, workshops and joy…and it's all FREE.
Join Dance in Gloucestershire for a whole day celebrating movement, creativity and community, with the entire venue transformed into a hub of dance.
Whether you're a seasoned dancer, a curious beginner, or someone who just loves to watch and be inspired, there's something here for you. The day is open to all ages, all abilities, all bodies, all genders and all dance styles.
Throughout the day, free workshops and taster sessions will run across the Guildhall, with something new to try every hour. Drop in, give it a go, find a style you've never tried before, or rediscover one you love. The day will end with wonderful dance performances, and you'll have the chance to chat with teachers and dance professionals from across the region about classes, opportunities and where your next move could take you.
The Guildhall's gorgeous cinema returns as the home of our Dance Films, screening a curated programme of dance films on the big screen all day. Come and go as you please, settle in for a few, or stay for the lot.
New for 2026: we're delighted to be working alongside Strike A Light, who are bringing Stacked Wonky's powerful performance '55' out into the Gloucester shopping centre; taking dance beyond the Guildhall walls and into the heart of the city. A must-see, and a beautiful reminder that dance belongs everywhere.
Beyond the workshops, films and performances, you'll find stalls selling local dancewear, crafts and merch, and the Bow Bar will be open for coffee, cake and a proper sit-down between sessions.
A dedicated quiet space will be available throughout the day for anyone who needs a breather away from the buzz.
So clear your Sunday, bring your mates, your kids, your dance shoes (or don't) and come dance with us.
Gloucestershire Dance Day is run by Dance in Gloucestershire (DiG), the collective bringing together dance artists, educators and organisations across the county. It's a day made by the local dance community, for everyone, a chance to come together, try something new, meet new people, and remember how good it feels to move.
This event is generously supported by Together Gloucester and the Gloucester Guildhall, whose backing makes a free, open, all-welcome day like this possible.
