About Fairyland (15)

Produced by Oscar winner Sofia Coppola, Andrew Durham’s tender adaptation of Alysia Abbott’s best-selling memoir is a moving story of queer parenting and chosen family that powerfully evokes 1970s-era San Francisco.

After the sudden death of her mother, Alysia ()Nessa Dougherty is uprooted by her father Steve (Scoot McNairy) in search of a fresh start. Landing in San Francisco, Steve flourishes with the freedom to develop his writing and date other men; but his bohemian lifestyle clashes with the expectations of parenting. As Alysia grows into a young woman (Emilia Jones), their bonds are tested in surprising ways.
