Savage Waters (12A)

  • Gloucester Guildhall 23 Eastgate Street Gloucester UK (map)

93 mins

Directed by: Mikey Corker

A tantalising passage in a 19th century journal inspires a family of modern-day adventurers to find and surf a spectacular wave in some of the most remote and dangerous waters of the Atlantic.

For renowned skipper, Matt Knight, sailing to unpredictable and uncharted regions is impossible to resist; something world-class big wave surfer Andrew Cotton has also built his career on. With family and friends, they board the beautiful catamaran Hecate and follow clues to find this ‘perfect wave’ – but not everything goes to plan.

Narrated by Charles Dance, Mikey Corker’s exhilarating documentary – featuring jaw-dropping footage of gorgeous locations from the west of Ireland to Nazaré – is an epic portrayal of extraordinary individuals pushing at the limits of exploration.
