About Scratch Collective:

Gloucester Guildhall are offering a programme of support for creatives who want to lead or be part of a peer- led collective to support each other develop and test new work.

The opportunity includes 1 years FREE rehearsal space for regular collaboration, sharing and support AND bespoke guest artist workshops up to the value of £1k.

The programme will lead to a public sharing for friends, family and/or industry.

Each collective will receive:

  • Free regular workshop space (every other week)

  • Onboarding – our inhouse participation producer will support each group to set the terms and structure for their regular meet ups

  • Intermittent guest workshops offered up to the value of £1k - this will be decided by and tailored to the needs and the creative disciplines of the group as it develops. The guest facilitator may offer guided activities to inspire new ideas and material or explore a different style/genre. The group will then use the peer-led sessions to continue developing that idea or approach.

  • 1 x free public performance space and marketing support - at a time that fits with our programme.

We are particularly looking for:

  • Individuals or already formed groups who want to share space, skills, ideas and feedback with like-minded creatives

  • Each group must present a clear self- nominated leader/s who will coordinate/run/manage the group with our support

  • Preference will be given to creatives in our chosen forms: dance/circus/movement, music, spoken-word, digital ( e.g. audio/film/animation) and cross-disciplinary. We will put collectives together based on shared disciplines and/or creative aims.

  • Commitment to run 1 x scratch performance showcasing individual or a collective work in progress which is public facing in some level even if friends and family

  • Commitment to meet regularly at least 1 x month

  • Commitment to evaluate the programme with peers at the end of the year

  • Willingness to actively expand the group and build your online following

We will put collectives together based on shared disciplines and/or creative aims.
