In the face of this bleak reality, Julie Lunde Lillesæter’s vital film introduces us to Amy, Marina and Hanna, three women whose own rape cases were dismissed by the Austin, Texas police. They join forces with 12 other women in a ground-breaking federal class-action lawsuit – the first to argue that the reason sexual assault isn’t prosecuted is that it predominantly affects women. Determined to hold police and prosecutors accountable, their resilience is threatened by immense pushback from the system they hope to change.
