And So I Watch You From Afar

  • Gloucester Guildhall 23 Eastgate Street Gloucester United Kingdom (map)

And So I Watch You From Afar were born from freezing cold winters on the northern most tip of Ireland. They play raw, charging, experimental music that is hard to define. Sometimes angular and noisy, sometimes pulsing, euphoric, overwhelming.

The joy, the power, the escapism found in their live shows is fabled. In 2006 they jumped in the van and didn’t stop. Across Europe, USA, Russia, Asia, Central America, Australia, touring relentlessly, they’ve slowly built a cult following around the world. Their albums are uncompromising and exploratory. The true spirit of independence, the definition of DIY, of realness and resolve.

WALDO’S GIFT
Having forged themselves as a name to remember, and electrifying new force in the new wave of UK Experimental music, Bristol trio Waldo’s Gift debut album ‘Malcolm's Law’ is a sizzling, maximalist, impossibly complex guitar record. While Waldo’s Gift have been associated with the UK jazz explosion, mainly owing to their focus on improvisation, within their full-length offering there are unmistakable shades of post-rock, prog-metal, and the more intense ends of Squarepusher or Aphex Twin.

GOD ALONE
The five musicians behind God Alone are quite literally students of their craft; ETC - their second full length album - was recorded at MTU Cork School of Music which they all attend. ETC was produced by the band and Christopher Hockley, and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Witch Fever, GGGOLDDD, Ghost). The origins of the band lie in a heavier, post-metal sound, but the intervening years and an influx of new and stimulating influences has seen them broaden their palette, expand their horizons and hone a distinctive sound.
